Our Past, Present and Future

The Beis Jacob Society was founded in 1909 by about 40 Jewish families in Plymouth. With the completion of the building at 8 Pleasant Street in 1913, the Society established Congregation Beth Jacob and blossomed into a thriving. center for the Jewish community. Today, it is an active Reform community serving Plymouth and surrounding towns.
With engaging and innovative services and programs, CBJ is an inclusive congregation, welcoming to interfaith families and the LGBTQ+ community. We believe strongly in social justice. Our clergy and lay leaders are actively involved in Plymouth civic and community organizations and initiatives.

What We Need:
We have determined that our total fundraising goal is $2.5 million. This includes the land we are purchasing at 279 Summer Street, the cost of leveling the land and building our new home. Together, we will build and secure CBJ’s bright future! No matter the amount, your donation plays an important role in helping to achieve our goal. All donations will be recognized in our Weekly Newsletter and on www.CBJPlymouth.org.
