This will be the second time that Congregation Beth Jacob will be participating in the annual URJ South Shore Shabbat. We will join with Temple Beth David of Canton, Temple Beth David of Westwood, Temple Chayai Shalom of Easton, Congregation Shaaray Shalom of Hingham, and Temple Sinai of Sharon for the annual URJ Shabbat to be held in-person at Temple Sinai as well as online.

URJ Union Service with Guest Speaker Rabbi Eric Yoffie

Join with five other Reform congregations of the south area as we gather at Temple Sinai for this year’s URJ Union Service. We welcome Rabbi Eric Yoffie, President Emeritus of the URJ to speak to us. Rabbi Yoffie was President of the URJ from 1996-2012. He emphasized renewing congregational worship and moving synagogue life toward greater commitment to Torah study and adult literacy. Rabbi Yoffie has written widely on issues of Israel and Zionism and on the relations between Israel and American Jews. He was instrumental in the founding of the Israel Religious Action Center, which advocates for religious pluralism in the Jewish state.
